Reunion History
The Official Brown Family Reunion was conceived, planned and organized on Labor Day, September 6th, 1976, spurred on by some family deaths in 1975 and 1976.
The minutes of that ground-breaking organizational meeting can be read by clicking on the 'How It Started' button below.
Every year after the Brown Family Reunion was held, an album of pictures from the reunion the previous year was created and shown to all attendees at the next years reunion.
That album also included the Secretary's Minutes from the past year, which was also read during the current Reunion's Business Meeting under Old Business.
Together, these two items preserve the happenings of each Reunion from the first Reunion right up to the current one. And many folks would enjoy these 'blasts from the past' at each subsequent Reunion.
Over the years (40+!) of annual Reunions, these printed Albums began to rival the weight and bulk of the Library of Alexandria and almost needed the Bangor & Aroostook RR to get them all to Reunion each year (or at least Wayne's pickup!).
Here's where automation saves the day! Maggie has scanned each page of EVERY Reunion and we have assembled all these pages into digital recreations of each Reunion Album. With 40+ years of Reunions, this was a HUGE effort, but a labor of love!
So now, we have ALL the Reunion Albums viewable in one place from the comfort of your home. It is a great place to relive past Reunions or to see what happened at any of those you've missed. Enjoy!
